The second Bhutan Heritage Scholarship has been awarded with the signing of the scholarship agreement with our partnering agency the Department of Culture on 7 July 2022.
Mr. Pema Wangcuk working with the Division for Heritage Conservation, DoC has been successfully selected through the university application process of our host university the Central European University. He will be studying for two years MA in Cultural Heritage Studies at the university. The first scholars, Mr Dhendup Tshering a Dy. Engineer of the DoC is at his final year at CEU.
Bhutan Heritage Scholarship has been established under Nyo Initiative for Culture and Heeritage. It is aimed towards collectively ensuring protection and promotion of culture and heritage with a wholistic cultural growth and development through building academically trained professionals in the field. Under this initiative, the scholarship will support prospective candidates from the Department of Culture to study MA in Cultural Heritage Studies at the CEU.
The scholarship is co-sponsored by ASIA onlus and Central European University in partnership with the Department of Culture, Royal Government of Bhutan.
